Welcome! I am so happy you are here. My name is Jenny Bower and I am here to share my love of words, to open my mind to new possibilities, share my story (joys and struggles), and hope to learn about myself in the process. I am excited to share my journey into the mystic, in a downhome kind of way. I am here to experience the benefit of getting out of my head.
I grew up on a farm near Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, spending many hours daydreaming and exploring nature. As an avid figure skater, I learned the importance of hard work, determination, and perseverance. When it came time to graduate high school, it was either Ice Capades or nursing school. In 2003, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta. A year later, with my then boyfriend (now husband) along for the ride, we relocated to Santa Barbara, California, where I worked on the surgical trauma unit for 7 years before attaining my Master of Nursing degree and transitioning into my role in nursing education and later as the Nursing Magnet Program Coordinator. Following the unexpected death of my older brother, I found myself turning towards spirituality and began an ongoing journey into all things esoteric. I currently work as a school nurse and continue to reside in Santa Barbara with my husband Norm and the greatest joys in my life, my two children Westin and Wynona.
As a master-prepared registered nurse and nurse educator with more than 20 years’ of experience, I know how important it is for caregivers to make their own needs and well-being a priority. Only when we commit to tending to our own essential needs can we continue to give to others without experiencing resentment, fatigue, and burnout. I hope that my offerings help to support and guide you in your own life journey.
